Part Two specialises in delivering high quality services in the following areas

Military transition and rehabilitation

Over many years, Part Two (Qld) has coordinated a range of rehabilitation programs with veterans by our team of experienced consultants who are familiar with ex-military personnel and the government systems available to support them.

We assist transitioning members with commencing health care assessment and obtaining treatment, particularly mental health treatment.

Part Two (Qld) adopts a ‘whole of person’ approach, developing Return to Work and Non-Return to Work Rehabilitation programs aimed at optimising the wellbeing of veterans.

We engage collaboratively with our clients to identify specific rehabilitation goals as part of their Plan, tailored to their individual needs.

The focus of these Rehabilitation Plans is to develop an integrated response to care that coordinates services and programs to optimise clients’ medical, physical and psychosocial health and wellbeing.

In addition, these programs focus on assisting clients to rebuild structure into their lives, encourage community participation, improve social networks and re-establish their self-identity, as they begin to reintegrate back into civilian life.

Medical and
Psychosocial Rehabilitation

These programs are aimed at improving the clients’ overall level of functioning, to ensure the introduction of structure into their lives, the greatest level of community engagement possible, improved socialisation avenues and enhanced self-esteem, and confidence to optimise their health and wellbeing.

This may include coordinating a client’s rehabilitation program with health professionals, and helping find an appropriate service provider, allied health practitioner or specialist.

  • Initial Rehabilitation Needs Assessment
  • Preparation of Rehabilitation Plans
  • Professional reporting and liaison with referring agency and all relevant stakeholders
  • Psychological counselling for adjustment to injury and pain management.
  • Case management to:
    • link in with recommended medical treatment providers
    • review social and recreational activities of interest to improve quality of life
    • support connection to psychosocial activities
    • explore local programs and facilitate community engagement
    • promote social engagement and interaction
    • review and implement life management skills.

Vocational and
Return to Work Services

We identify suitable vocational options for our clients and develop successful return to work programs for those assessed as medically fit. We work within an inclusive framework with each client taking an active role in their plan, and the process of getting back into employment.

A tailored Return to Work Plan includes discussions with the treating medical practitioner/s about any restrictions that should be observed in the workplace, and to obtain the practitioner’s recommendations for suitable duties. Return to work strategies are flexible and dependent on a client’s individual circumstances.

If an individual is unable to return to their usual employment, Part Two Consultants can work to help identify medically suitable alternatives, based on an individual’s goals and health needs. In addition, Part Two Consultants can work with clients to identify vocational support including work skills, assist with resumes and interviews, job market research, and applying for jobs.
